American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) Announces Collaboration with Digital Surgery™ to Pilot Innovative Surgical Simulations
Interactive App-based Surgical Simulations Will Be Demonstrated in the ASPS’s Resource Center Throughout Plastic Surgery – The Meeting in Chicago, IL
Arlington Heights, IL, September 28, 2018 – The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), in collaboration with Digital Surgery, is excited to announce a pilot that will take place during the upcoming 2018 Plastic Surgery – The Meeting annual conference, the world’s leading educational forum for plastic surgery. Between September 28th to October 1st, ASPS attendees visiting the Resource Center will be able to interact with two surgical simulations – open rhinoplasty and breast augmentation – developed especially for the occasion. Members of the Digital Surgery team will also be on hand to assist with the demonstrations.
Working closely with the ASPS, Digital Surgery converted existing operative videos into interactive simulation, accessible from the company’s flagship product, Touch Surgery. The simulations “walk” users through surgical procedures in a step-by-step and gamified manner, allowing users to test their knowledge at the end. The goal of the demonstration is to showcase Digital Surgery’s academically-validated approach to surgical education, which focuses exclusively on the cognitive decision-making components of surgical procedures.
“We’re excited to have Digital Surgery join us at the world’s largest plastic surgery conference. Collaborating together, we feel like we’ve been able to push the boundaries of mobile surgical education and offer ASPS members something new and unique. We are looking forward to hearing from our Plastic Surgery attendees about the potential use of such an innovative platform and analytics to enhance offerings,” said Renée Robbins, Vice-President of Education and Development of the ASPS.
